Legal Separation Process
The process of legal separation actually follows the exact same process as a divorce and finalizes issues related to division of assets and debts, spousal maintenance and child-related issues. Once a decree of has been issued, either party can request the court to convert the decree of divorce once six months have elapsed from the date the decree of legal separation was issued.
